This October was a bit out of the norm as far as expenses go, but for the most part I still stayed under budget and managed to save money as well as pay off debt. Things are looking great as far as having my consumer debt paid off well before my original December 25th date, but student loans might not be paid off until January 15 which is what I was estimating to begin with. I thought there was a chance I could find a part-time job that would blend well with my full-time position, but it didn’t work out in my favor. Although I have multiple other avenues of work, none have been supplementing any income – yet! But it is on my to-do list to start making bigger moves once I am debt free. I find it silly to invest money into businesses when I still owe. It makes more sense in this time to focus purely on the largest goal at hand and plug through. As much as these other projects are so exciting and forward-thinking, I can’t overwhelm myself with too many costs and risk falling behind.
As for expenses, my “other” category will be higher than normal due to sports fees, and preparations for student loans by saving more money in case something unexpected happens and I need to dip in to speed up the process. Gas will also be higher than normal due to a road trip my fiancé took to visit family in Manitoba (thrilling stuff here guys).
Expenses:
Groceries $161.34 Entertainment $312.98 Gas $243.75 Rent $360.00 Other (Bills & Savings) $779.10 Debt Payments $900.00 Grand Total $2757.17
Here is where I stand as far as my debts go:
Credit Card 1 $0 Credit Card 2 $1071.67 Student Loans $3000 – first payment will be in November! Grand Total $4071.67
This is the lowest my debt payments have gone down since I have started making payments, but it is still progress none the less. Two more solid payments will ensure I have eliminated all consumer debt which is a huge accomplishment! I can`t wait to shout from the rooftops that I am debt free. These student loans better be prepared for a hard kick in the bootay because my budget is locked in line for a solid start to 2016! Let’s get it.
Also I just wanted to mention how thankful I am for all of the recent support I have received from J. Money, Money After Graduation and Rockstar Finance. Not only them, but to my readers since day one and to my readers who have only recently stumbled upon my blog. I have big plans for this blog starting in January and can`t wait to share the ideas with all of you. Stay tuned!
